In the over 50 years of our history, thousands of amazing people have walked through the doors of Canada's National Ballet School to study, teach or provide administrative support and guidance. We believe that your vast skills, talents and experiences are valuable tools that can be used to help support each other and the future NBS student and staff community.
We were so pleased to welcome many alumni back to NBS for the School's 50th anniversary in 2009-2010. The alumni reunion provided the opportunity for many of us to re-connect and we are committed to providing more events for alumni both in Toronto as well as across the country.
Who Are NBS Alumni?
To celebrate the NBS community we've taken a much broader and inclusive approach to our definition of alumni. In addition to graduates of the Professional Ballet Program (PBP), we are delighted to include graduates of the Post Secondary Program (PSP) and Teacher Training Program (TTP). We also take a further step and include every student from those programs, as well as all staff, Board, and Foundation members, who shared a year of their life with NBS.
NBS Alumni have an exciting opportunity to create a niche for our legacy, and to help develop future programs that everyone in the NBS community can benefit from.
What's New?
We are proud to announce that NBS now has a dedicated resource committed to our alumni program. Tess McLean, class of 1976, has joined NBS and will be working hard to develop programs and opportunities for our alumni community.
One of our first initiatives is the launch of an alumni e-newsletter in the near future. Tess looks forward to your ideas about what type of information you would like to have included. You can reach Tess at or at 416.964.3780 x2114.
Building the NBS Alumni Community
We want to connect – and remain connected with as many members of our alumni community as possible in order to celebrate our unique history and valuable experiences -- and to 'give forward' to the next generations. Our goal is to create an ongoing dialogue with alumni, to create networks and provide open communication between NBS' past, present and future.
Maintaining a database of our Alumni information is critical, but keeping in touch is a challenge! We are constantly trying to locate former students, graduates and staff. We need your help to keep our information current – please use the form below to provide us with your most recent contact information and don't forget to let us know what you've been up to!
